No outsider can call you

One-to-one, only people in your circle can call you; in a room, only the people in that room with you. keepasa doesn't have your phone number: no one can find you, buy it from a list or dial it by mistake.

Nobody can pose as one of your people

A call from your mum comes through your chat together, and that chat's key is only on her phone and yours. There's no “hi, it's me, this is my new number” here: a new profile can't even message you until you let it in. A voice faked with artificial intelligence has no way in either.

A person on the other end

keepasa puts no call centres, robocalls, surveys or ads between you and your people. If it rings, it's someone you know who wants to talk to you. That's all.

What you say stays between you

Audio and video are encrypted on your phones with a key only you have. They pass through our server to connect you, but we can't hear them and they're never recorded.

And it rings the way it should

On the lock screen, with the caller's name and your phone's ringtone, even when keepasa is closed. Voice and video, one-to-one or with the whole room, and missed calls are noted in the chat.

Cut someone off with a tap

If someone's no longer welcome, you disconnect: the chat disappears for both of you and they can no longer call you one-to-one, until you invite them again.

Questions about calls.

Can someone from a room who isn't in my circle call me?

Only with a room call, which comes with the room's name and is for all its members. One-to-one, no: to call you, they have to be in your circle. And since rooms start out closed, you know who's inside and who brought each person in.

Can you listen to or record my calls?

No. Audio and video are encrypted with a key that only the phones in the conversation have. Our server relays them without being able to open them and keeps nothing of what's said.

What does keepasa know about my calls?

The minimum they need to work: which chat had a call, who started it, when and how long it lasted. That's how the other phone rings and missed calls get noted. What you say to each other, never.

What if someone picks up my contact's phone?

With someone else's unlocked phone, you can call as them, just like with any phone. That's why keepasa can be locked with Face ID, a fingerprint or the phone's passcode.

Does it use data?

Like any internet call. On Wi-Fi it costs nothing; on mobile data it depends on your plan.
